It's hard to imagine, but as long as they've been
building homes, that require additional levels, they've been building
stairs.
If I was to guess, I have probably installed at least 5000 sets of
stairs in a variety of forms and designs.
This doesn't compare to all of the stairs that have been built for
centuries.
By building these stairs, I can appreciate the stairways that I walk up
and down in public buildings, amphitheaters and even in some theaters. I
have seen magnificent stairways all over the world and sometimes can't
believe that they are still standing up.
Some of these stairs have been constructed out of rocks, wood, concrete,
metal and I've even seen them made out of glass and plastic. I have seen
stairways that don't look like they have any structural strength or
support to them, yet have been working fine, for many years.
It's hard to imagine how many stair masters or master stair builders
have created magnificent and wonderful staircases all around the world.
Most of these people never seem to get any credit, and I would imagine
that most of them are probably gone and have been gone for a long time.
I think that we owe these stair builders, some gratitude. I can't
imagine how many people have walked up and down the stairways that I
have built myself. Let alone a large stairway, where thousands of people
walk up and down them on a daily basis.
I want to send my special thanks to all of the master stair builders,
all over the world, all the way back to the beginning of time.
