Bending Wood - Stairs And Handrails

If you're building a set of wood circular or spiral stairs, there is a good chance that you're going to need the bend some for your wood staircase parts, including your banister or handrail.

This isn't a job for an amateur, but could be done by someone with a little enthusiasm and a lot of persistence. I recommend contacting your local library or bookstore's to find a good book, on how to bend wood, before attempting to do it on your own.

The most common method used today for bending wood is cutting the piece of wood that you're planning on bending into thin strips and then gluing them together, while you clamp them to be round object.
