C Clamp - Carpentry And Woodworking Tools

A C clamp is shaped like the letter C and can be used to clamp a variety of pieces of lumber and other building materials together. It's probably the most common clamping device used by anyone who works with wood.

C clamps come in a variety of sizes, but they are usually going to be in a similar shape, otherwise they wouldn't be called C clamps.

If there's one word of advice I could give anyone interested in working with wood, it would be to spend a little extra money and purchase a better product. Some of the inexpensive clamps won't last very long and will need to be replaced in the future.

Trust me on this one, I bought a couple of C clamps one time that only lasted a few hours. While clamping two pieces of wood together, I broke the handle off of the first one, and the other one split in half.

Sometimes you can find some great bargains on tools at garage sales and thrift stores. I've seen plenty of woodworking tools that are in excellent shape, while driving around my neighborhood.
