Concrete Stair Pad

In the picture above they used a concrete stair pad to rest the stair stringers on. This is a great idea for this situation where the asphalt parking lot meets the stairs. The concrete pad minimum width is 36 inches by 36 inches square. This design will keep the water from the parking lot off the stringers to avoid wood rot and termite damage.
