| The stairs next to the stucco creates a
sponge like effect. The wood stair stringer is not painted on the side
you can't see therefore it touch's the cement stucco.
When the stucco gets
moist from rain or high humidity the wood will actually suck the
moisture into the wood. This could attract termites and lead to wood
rot.
