Terracotta Stair Landing

This is a great idea it provides a rough surface to prevent slipping. The only problem is the stair landing is not water proofed correctly. If you look at the stair head out above the last tread you can see a lot of wood damage. It looks like someone has filled the front of the head out with plaster and painted over it. This landing will need to be complety redone in a short period of time as the water penetrates through the porous tiles and is soaked into the wood underneath.
