Cove Molding - Wood Trim
Cove molding comes in different sizes but is normally going to be in the same shape. You can get a pretty good idea by looking at the picture below, to see what cove molding actually looks like.
It's probably the single most popular wood trim and
stair builders have been using it or for quite some time. As you can see
in the picture above, they're using this wood trim to accent the top of
a wood post.
Cove molding can also be used around stair treads, skirt boards, hand
railing and baseboards. When I said that this is the single most popular
wood trim, used by stair builders, it's probably listed in the top five
of all trim or molding used by wood working professionals, cabinet
makers and finish carpenters.
Cove molding can be purchased from most lumber yards and home
improvement centers and is available in almost every type of wood
imaginable. If you can't find it and you have the right tools, you can
always make your own cove molding.
