Impact Drivers - House Construction Tools

Impact drivers are power tools used to fasten nuts rapidly to bolts. They come in different shapes and sizes and some of them are more powerful than others. Automobile mechanics used them on a daily basis, to loosen and tighten nuts and bolts. Stair builders use them to attach angle tread brackets and treads to stair stringers.

Make sure that you read the manufacturer's operation instructions and understand how to operate impact drivers safely. Some of these power tools are powerful and I've seen them put a lot of pressure on a carpenter's wrists.

If you're planning on mass-producing stairs that require nuts, bolts or lag screws, a impact driver wouldn't be a bad investment. Most framing contractors and carpenters usually have at least one of these tools, with them at all time.

When I was building a lot of homes, this was another tool that I didn't want to leave home without.
