Laminate Trim Router - Power Tools

A laminate trimmer router is used to create smooth edges on countertops, cabinets, doors and other building materials. The main purpose for these routers is to create a smooth edge or corner.

Laminate trimmer routers can be used for finishing stair tread edges and corners. It's a fantastic tool and is usually easier to handle than a standard sized router.

I don't recommend purchasing one of them, unless you're going to use it at least once. Okay, what the heck just go get one, if you have to. However, if you're short on funds you could always use a router trimming bit.

You can purchase a variety of different router bits to create different designs around the edges of your woodworking projects. I've never purchased a laminate trim router, but have used a variety of these trimming router bits.

I only have one thing to say about them, they work fantastic. I used to make my own cabinet doors and wood glue a quarter inch veneer over a wood frame. I would let the veneer overhang about a quarter of an inch around the perimeter of the cabinet door frame and then use my trim router bit too clean up the corners.

If you haven't ever used them before, you should seriously consider checking them out, before purchasing a laminate trim router.
