Remodeling - Stairways And Construction
Remodeling is the process for taking something old or damaged and making it look new. Whenever you hear someone mention that they're in the process of remodeling their bathroom, that means that they are removing some or all of the bathroom fixtures and replacing them with new ones.
It's not uncommon for an older home to get remodeled or renovated. Anytime you make any changes to your home, your probably remodeling it. The process of taking out an old tile floor and replacing it with a wood floor, can be considered renovating or remodeling.
Is It Better To Remodel My Old House Or Move Into A New One?
This is a hard one to answer, because it all depends upon your finances
and whether or not you want to stay in your old neighborhood. If you're
handy with a few tools and willing to tackle the project in sections,
then the remodeling process, probably won't be difficult to manage or
frustrating.
Before you make a decision, you should get all of your finances in order
and get a few prices or estimates for the project. One of the worst
things that could happen to anyone who's planning on remodeling an older
house is to end up with a money pit.
What started out as a $50,000 remodeled is now costing over $100,000.
Once I was working with another contractor who provided the homeowner
with a $475,000 price to remodel their home. By the time we finished
framing the project, the homeowner's new budget was at $675,000.
Create a budget, then create a plan and then do whatever you can
possible to avoid deviating from that plan, unless you have additional
resources at your disposal.
Most of the time, it's going to be better to move into a new house than
it would to remodel an old one. A major concern for most people who ask
this question, is the neighborhood that they're living and currently. If
they love the area, they're probably going to end up remodeling.
