Renovation - Stair Repairs And Remodeling
Renovation is the process for restoring something to its original condition or better. The picture below provide you with the perfect example of restoring a bathroom floor that was damaged by water. It's not uncommon to find an old building in a historical district, being renovated, in order to preserve the community.
What's The Difference Between Remodeling And Renovation?
The only difference I could think of is the way that the words are actually spelled, otherwise they share the same meaning. Sometimes it just sounds better to tell someone that your bathroom is being renovated, instead of the fact that you're remodeling your bathroom.
Is It Better To Renovate A Stairway Or Rebuild It?
It all depends upon the condition of the stairway. If the stairway is
badly damaged, it could actually take more time and cost more money to
renovate, than it would to remove and replace it.
Every once in a while I received a call from someone who wants me to
repair their stairs. They usually provide me with a general description
of the condition of the stairs, but most of the time they're description
is completely inaccurate.
When I tell the property owners that it would be cheaper for me to tear
down the old stairway and rebuild them a new one, than it would be to
make any attempts to repair the existing staircase, that's usually about
the time when I receive the look of complete dissatisfaction.
If you're a property owner and your stairs are in bad shape, you could
be liable for any accidents that occur while you own the property. Do
yourself a favor and repair or replace your stairs, if they're wobbly or
unsafe to use.
