Router Bit - Carpentry And Wood Tools
A router bit is used to create a variety of different shapes and designs. Router bits are commonly used for cutting different designs around the perimeter of the board. Router bits don't work alone and usually partner up with a router to get the job done.
Router Bit Purchasing Tips
If you're planning on purchasing and using router bits for almost any
woodworking project, you should plan on spending the extra money, to get
the good ones. I've bought the cheaper router bits and they don't work
well or last long. As a matter of fact, they usually end up ruining the
piece of wood that I'm trying to router.
I like to use carbide router bits along with a nice router. Router bits
can range in price from $10 and up and can usually be found at hardware
stores, lumber yards and home improvement centers.
If you know what you're getting, you can even order them online.
However, I would avoid purchasing router bits that you weren't familiar
with over the Internet, because you could end up with some junk.
