Skilsaw - Home Framing Tools
A skill saw is a circular saw that's made by the company named Skil, hence the name skilsaw. It's a preferred circular saw, used on the West Coast by most framing Carpenter's. The picture below provides you with an example of a Skilsaw that I was using to rip down the side of the 2 x 6.
Are There Better Circular Saws?
I'm sure that there are, but not for me. I used this saw so many times
that it became an extension of my right arm. I know exactly what it's
going to do when I turn it on and exactly when to stop cutting.
I've used a couple of different circular saws, but I don't honestly ever
see myself purchasing any other type. Remember, this is just my personal
opinion and not a recommendation.
Can You Tell By Listening To This Saw, Whether Or Not Someone Knows How To Use It Or Not?
You're probably going to find this hard to believe, but the answer to
this question is yes. I can tell by listening to a circular saw, whether
or not someone has any experience using it.
Every once in while I'm introduced to someone who tells me that they
were working with tools, before they were born. All I need to do is
watch how they handle a Skilsaw and listen to the sound of it, turning
on and off, to validate their experience.
Circular saws are dangerous and before you ever think about using them,
you should read and understand the manufacturers instructions for use.
