Telescoping Attic Stairs
Telescoping attic stairs are often referred to as sliding stairs that slide into your attic ceilings. They're usually hard to find and have been replaced by folding stairs that are more convenient and easy to transport. The picture below provides you with an example of how a telescoping stairway would work.
What's The Difference Between A Telescoping Stairway And A Folding Stairway?
In some cases, not a heck of a lot. I've seen telescoping stairways that
fold up, but don't fit my description of something that would slide into
itself. Now you're probably wondering how could anyone consider a
stairway that folds up, to be a telescoping stairway.
To be honest with you, that ones hard for me to answer. There are so
many different types of stairways available today, that they often get
confused with others. It's not uncommon to find someone referring to a
telescoping stairway as another type of stairs system.
A telescoping stairways should collapse into itself, in the same manner
that a telescope would. Otherwise we shouldn't be referring to them as
such. They're not easy to find and if you do ever find them, they could
be expensive.
