Tread Under Cut - Cutting And Laying Stairs Out

A tread under cut is used to provide people who walk up the stairway with a more comfortable step. Instead of using vertical risers, a tread under cut will be angled back, creating a longer tread. This will provide stairway users with more room for their feet. The picture below provides you with an excellent illustration of a stair tread under cut.

Stair Building Secrets

Almost anyone can learn how to build a set of stairs, with enough time, but to learn every stair building secret could take forever. That's actually one of the reasons why I built this website and have written numerous books.

It's not uncommon to run across a stair builder who doesn't know the first thing about tread under cuts, because they never had access to the information. There are plenty of other stair building secrets that you should be aware of, especially if you're planning on working in the construction industry, for the rest of your life.

Here's one of the best pieces of advice I could give anyone who wants to improve themselves and become masters at any trade. You've got to read as much stuff as possible and don't limit yourself to books about your business or trade. Some of the best secrets I found, have been located in books that didn't have anything to do with construction.

The true stair building secrets are going to be found in the nooks and crannies, so make sure that you read, listen and watch, everything and everybody. Read books, listen to the professionals and watch as many helpful videos as you possibly can.
