Double Check Your Measurements
Okay, you've already
heard me mention how important it is to double check all of your
measurements, but reputation is usually the best teacher. I'm only going
to say it one last time, but whether you're building a simple stairway
or a complicated staircase, you need to double check every measurement,
always.
It also wouldn't be a bad idea to triple check all of your critical
measurements, either. I usually measure something, make a mark and then
re-measure it, before making any cuts.
Most of the time all of my measurements are correct, but every once in
awhile, they aren't. Let's face it, we all make mistakes, but there is
no need to pay the price, for a mistake that you could have done
something about.
Some of the most successful stair builders I've met, do the exact same
thing that I do. They double check all of their stair stringer
measurements, landing positions and important calculations.
So Say It With Me," Measure Twice And Cut Once."
