Anti-Slip Stair Treads
Anti-slip stair treads are the best way I could possibly think of to prevent anyone from slipping and falling down a stairway. If you have a stairway with smooth steps or if you've had any accidents recently, you should consider installing some type of skid resistant stair step covering. Most of these products are easy to install, but need to be maintained regularly.
What Does Anti-Slip Mean?
It means that you might not slip, but it doesn't mean that you will not
slip. I don't think you're ever going to find a non-skid stair tread
manufacturer, referring to their product as never slip or never fall,
stairway protection.
Let's face it, most people are clumsy, lose their balance and it had
nothing to do with the smooth surface that they were walking on.
However, when someone does slip and fall, because they were walking on a
smooth surface and it could have been prevented, it should have.
The main point I would like to make is to try and avoid confusing
non-slip, anti-skid or slip resistant stair treads with anything else.
These products are just going to reduce the amount of safety problems
created from smooth and slippery stair treads, not eliminate them
completely.
