Non-skid Stair Strips
Non skid
stair strips can be placed across the entire stair treads or across part
of the stair tread. Depending upon what you're trying to accomplish, I
recommend placing at least two non-slip stair strips, towards the front
of each stair step.
However, if you're really looking for some
additional safety, the picture below should give you a pretty good idea,
how to cover the entire stair tread.
Why Should I Install More Than One Slip Resistant Stair Strip On Each Stair Treads?
In most cases, one non-slip stair strip is going to be sufficient, but
have you ever heard of additional insurance, just in case one of the
other stair strips is worn or missing. What about installing at least
one more or even two more, just in case you start to have problems, with
one of the other strips.
I'm not about to suggest that you need to apply non skid stair strips
throughout the entire stairway, stair landing and stick them to every
part of the stair handrail system, but when it comes to safety, more non
skid stair strips will usually be better.
