Plastic Stair Treads
I'm not going to recommend using plastic, simply because I haven't had enough experience with it. I've never even built a stairway with any plastic parts, let alone plastic stair treads. I'm going to do a little more research and get back with you as soon as possible.

Problems With Plastic Stair Treads
There's a reason why I haven't worked with plastic or used it, on some
of the stairs that I've built. Plastic is brittle, cracks and could
create safety hazards, especially if it's not maintained or fixed in a
		timely manner.

Stair Building Tip: If you're looking for something different and want
to be the the first person in your neighborhood, with the newest
building products, available, you could also be the first person, in
your neighborhood to suffer the consequences.

I've been in the business for over 30 years and I'm still amazed at how
many contractors, home builders, architects and other building
professionals are easily sold and often purchase inferior products that
		have just been released.

Just because it sounds wonderful, doesn't mean that it has been tested
thoroughly. A little history on building materials and manufacturers,
should provide you with all the information, you will ever need, on this
		particular subject.

The stair building tip that I am going to share with you, relates to
plastic stair treads. If you don't see a lot of them, there is usually a
reason why. It's your job to find out why these products aren't used by
professionals. Sometimes a little research on the Internet will reveal
all of the information you need to know about a particular building
		material or manufacturer.
