Stair Treads Rugs
Stair tread rugs come in a variety of different shapes and sizes and can even be ordered over the Internet. The designs that you can choose from are practically endless. However, there are a few things that you should familiarize yourself with before purchasing any stair tread rugs, especially through the Internet.
Stair Tread Rug Ordering Tips
1. Make sure that you order the correct amount of stair treads, when
placing your final order. Don't rely on someone else to provide you with
the information, count the actual stair treads yourself.
2. Here's a simple way to count your stair treads. Get a pad of Post-It
Notes or scrap paper and number the stair treads, individually. Write
the number one on your first Post-It Note and stick it to the bottom or
first tread on the stairway.
Work your way up, numbering each stair tread, until you finally reach
the last tread. I know this sounds like a lot of work, but when you
order your stair treads and you have one extra or you don't have enough,
it could be more frustrating, than you ever imagined.
3. Double check all of your measurements, just to make sure that you're
getting the correct sizes. If you have a 34 inch wide stairway and 11
inch tread widths, it would be extremely difficult to fit a 24 inch wide
by 16 inch stair mat, on each step.
4. Sometimes stair tread rugs come in a set of 13 or 14. This could
actually be cheaper than ordering individual rugs, even though you only
need 12. However, this could also go in the other direction.
If you have 17 steps, it could be cheaper to order a package of 14, plus
three additional stair rugs.
Now for the kicker, make sure that the packages don't cost more than it
would to order them individually. Trust me on this one, I've seen it
happen more times than you can imagine.
Some people have it pre-programmed in their mind that by ordering in
bulk they will be saving money, but that's not always going to be the
case, especially when you're ordering stair tread rugs.
