Windows At Bottom Of Stairway
Most building codes
state that any windows that are within a 60 inch width by 60 inch height
area, from the first stair tread, shall be made using tempered safety
glass.
Special Tip: The biggest problem in a situation like this is when a
builder isn't familiar with this stair building code, orders standard
windows within this area, only later to find out by the
building
inspector, that these windows need to be tempered glass. Problems like
these can cost builders lots of money.
