Windows - Stair Well Building And Framing
Windows are usually made from glass, wood, plastic,
aluminum and metal. They're used to provide buildings with light and
ventilation and can also be used as a fire escape, on certain buildings.
Windows come in a variety of shapes, sizes and designs. People have been
using windows for centuries, even though some of them have never had one
piece of glass ever installed, in them.
Stairwell Windows And Safety Glass
If you're planning on installing windows around your stairway, you
should do yourself a favor and find out a little more about what your
local building codes requirements are going to be.
If the windows fall within certain measurements, in your stairway, you
will be required to use tempered glass. This could be a big problem, if
you haven't installed a tempered glass window, around your stairwell and
the building inspector catches it.
Even if the building inspector didn't find a window that used regular
glass and was installed in an area that require tempered glass, it
wouldn't be a bad idea to make the necessary repairs as soon as
possible.
